Sweater Weather 10K & 5K

Sweater Weather 10K & 5K takes place on October 3, 2026 at the Canmore Nordic Centre Stadium, just behind the Main Lodge (1988 Olympic Way, Canmore, Alberta). Courses run through pine forests on double-track dirt trails and include mountain-style elevation.

An aid station stocked with water and Precision Fuel & Hydration products is located at 3.5 km on the 5K and at 3.5 km and 7.5 km on the 10K. Finish-line provisions include pie and warm drinks provided by JK Bakery. Participants receive event swag; a finish medal is available for an additional fee. Organizers donate two dollars from every entry to the Biosphere Institute of the Bow Valley.

Practical details: race package pickup is available Friday at Strides Canmore (1240 Railway Ave #108, Canmore) and the morning of the event at the Canmore Nordic Centre. Registration opens April 1, 2026, early bird pricing runs to May 1, and registration closes at midnight on September 26 or when the event sells out.

Rules and safety: bear spray is required for runners aged 18 and older. Strollers are not permitted on course. Leashed dogs are allowed to spectate off course. Headphones are not permitted. A 2.5 hour course cutoff applies and medical staff are positioned on site and along the route. The event is hosted by rnest endurance. Canmore Revolver on June 27, 2026 is a five hour AMLAP event on a 6 km loop at the Canmore Nordic Centre. Runners compete solo or in teams of two or three and a post race gathering offers poutine and CR*FT non alcoholic beverages.

Relentless24 is a 24 hour endurance run at the Canmore Nordic Centre on July 11, 2026. Solo runners and teams of various sizes use single track and double track trails with mountain views and pacer options.

A limited field mountain running event at Pomeroy Kananaskis Mountain Lodge featuring a 21.1 km half marathon and a 10 km paved course, with a Zero‑Trace policy and partnership supporting Kananaskis conservation.

Trail running at the Canmore Nordic Centre with distances from 1 km kids races to a 19.3 km Grit course. Courses use singletrack and doubletrack trails and bear spray is required for the longer categories.
