5 Peaks - Canmore Nordic Center #2

Canmore, Canada • 5-6 Sep 2026

5 Peaks Trail Running at Canmore Nordic Centre

The event takes place at the Canmore Nordic Centre, the venue that hosted nordic and biathlon events at the 1988 Winter Olympics. Races use a network of singletrack and doubletrack trails with technical and flowy sections, steep climbs, and notable elevation gain. Courses loop through lower and upper trail sections, allowing runners to see others on the route.

Distances offered include:

  • 1 km kids race
  • 3 km kids race
  • 7 km Sport run or hike
  • 12.2 km Enduro run or hike
  • 19.3 km Grit run

The start and finish are located at the main stadium with mountain views and a DJ in the event area. Safety rules prohibit dogs, headphones, strollers or baby joggers, and hiking poles except in non-competitive hiking categories. Bear spray is required for participants in the Sport, Enduro, and Grit distances; children in the 1 km and 3 km events are not required to carry bear spray and additional volunteers will carry spray on those courses.

The event is cup free. Water and electrolyte drinks are available at the start and finish and at one or more aid stations on course. Parking is available in the main and overflow areas near the Day Lodge and a Kananaskis Pass is required for the day. Swag and finisher medals are not included with individual registration and can be purchased through Race Roster; all swag and medals must be picked up at the race and will not be mailed.
