5 Peaks - Canmore Nordic Center #2
Event overview
This 5 Peaks Trail Running event takes place at the Canmore Nordic Centre in Canmore, Alberta, the venue that hosted the nordic and biathlon events at the 1988 Winter Olympics. The course uses singletrack and doubletrack trails and includes varied terrain and elevation gain.

- 1 km Kids
- 3 km Kids
- 7 km Sport run or hike
- 12.2 km Enduro run or hike
- 19.3 km Grit run
Maps, elevation profiles, and aid station locations are provided; routes and distances may change based on trail conditions up to race day.
Safety and equipment notes: participants in Sport, Enduro, and Grit are required to carry bear spray. Children in the 1 km and 3 km events are not required to carry bear spray; additional volunteers will carry bear spray on those courses. Dogs, headphones, and strollers are not allowed on the race course. Hiking poles are only permitted in non-competitive hiking categories.
Logistics: packet pick up is available at Strides Canmore and at the Canmore Nordic Centre. Washroom facilities are available at the start and finish area. Parking is in the main or overflow lots and requires a Kananaskis Pass which is not included with registration. Spectators are welcome.
Other race details: the event is cup free; water and electrolyte drink are available at the start, finish, and at one or more aid stations. Participants planning to be on course longer than one hour should carry a receptacle for fluids and nutrition. Swag and finisher medals are not included with individual registration, must be pre-purchased, and must be picked up at the race; they will not be mailed. Awards are presented to the top three finishers by gender in each age category for each distance, and to the top three male and female finishers overall.
