CRR Silver Springs X/C

CRR Silver Springs X/C is a cross-country event held on the north side of Bowmont Park, near the Silver Springs Community Hall. The 2025 edition is part of the 2025–2026 CRR Grand Prix Series and offers distances for children and adults.

Distances offered

  • 0.5–1 km for children 12 and under
  • 4 km for children 12 and under, masters 70 plus, and male and female open
  • 8 km for age groups in 10 year brackets, male and female

Online pre-registration is available before the race and cash payment is accepted on site. Entry fees listed are $12 general, $8 CRR members, $6 full-time students, and free for children 12 and under. A parent or guardian must sign a waiver for participants under 18.

The 4 km shares the initial segment of the 8 km course. Courses traverse hillsides, gullies, and thickets and may include mud, ice, or snow; treaded shoes or spikes are recommended. Some course sections run through unleashed dog areas. Toilets are located at the community hall.

A post-race meal and social take place at the Silver Springs Community Association on the ground floor with hot soup, rolls, and beverages provided by volunteers. Desserts are shared and attendees are asked to bring their own mug, bowl, and spoon. Events proceed if temperatures stay above -20 °C; the final decision rests with the Race Directors.
