Racing Dusk

Racing Dusk is organized by Iron Legs Running Company and is scheduled for 19 December 2026 at West Bragg Creek. The event distance is 20 miles, run as three loops that all start and finish at West Bragg Creek. The race is held near the winter solstice.

All loops are run counter clockwise and participants may run the loops in any order. Because runners may choose different orders, individual positions relative to others might not be obvious during the race, which places emphasis on each runner's strategy. The event has an eight hour time limit and there is a mandatory cutoff to start the final loop; a headlamp may be required for late starts.

GPX files for each loop are provided in the Misc Race Info tab. Registration is closed. Published entry fees were 105 CAD plus GST and registration fee, increasing to 120 CAD plus GST and registration fee after 19 October 2025. A 50% refund is available for cancellations made prior to 20 October 2025. If the race is cancelled for reasons such as weather, smoke, fire, or permit issues, refunds will depend on timing and incurred expenses.

Mandatory gear to be carried at all times includes mitts or gloves, the race bib, a minimum of one litre of water, a toque, an additional warm layer, a space blanket or bivy bag, and a headlamp if starting the last loop late. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
