Trail Running calendar near Sparks 2026-2027

A 200.2 mile ultramarathon around Lake Tahoe using the Tahoe Rim Trail and National Forest lands, featuring many single-track sections, multiple aid and sleep stations, and a 105 hour cutoff. The course is currently an out and back route.

A half marathon, 8 miler, and 5K held at The Village at Palisades Tahoe with courses on the paved Truckee River Trail, aid stations and on-site medical support, and event amenities including a T-shirt, medal, and post-race beer for 21 plus.

A 100K ultramarathon on nearly all singletrack around Lake Tahoe with 11,500 feet of climbing, over 23,000 feet of elevation change, a peak near 9,800 feet, three aid stations and a 24 hour cutoff.

A four day mountain running event at Palisades Tahoe near Lake Tahoe, California. Races range from a kids run to a 46K and include steep off trail sections, ladders, hand lines and a Via Ferrata.

A cupless trail race in the Susan River Canyon featuring a loop from Hobo Camp that uses the Bizz Johnson Trail outbound and flowy South Side singletrack on the return. Three distances are offered and all finishers receive a towel and medal..

On June 20, 2026 at Sparks Marina runners complete a *4.167 mile* yard each hour until one person remains; mini Backyard races of 3, 6, 12, and 24 hours use the same rules and award finishers.

A trail event on June 26, 2026 in Olympic Valley that starts at the Western States 100 line, runs around High Camp, and includes a kids 100.2 m dash. The day finishes with an after party at High Camp Lodge and live music.

A 100 mile trail race along the trans Sierra Western States Trail from Olympic Valley to Auburn, featuring over 15,000 feet of ascent and more than 22,000 feet of descent. Entry for 2026 is allocated by a lottery system.

The Big Chief 50K will take place in Tahoe City on Sunday 28 June 2026. You can run 50 kilometers.

The Burton Creek Trail Run will take place in Tahoe City on Sunday 28 June 2026. You can run between 6 and 21 kilometers.

July 2026

The Run to the Beach - Tahoe Vista will take place in Tahoe Vista on Saturday 4 July 2026. You can run between 5 and 10 kilometers.

A multi-distance trail endurance event on the Tahoe Rim Trail held July 18-19, 2026, offering 23K, 50K, 100K and 100 Mile options. The races are ITRA qualifiers with published time cutoffs and support local trail and community programs.

A trail event in Downieville, California with 25K, 50K, and 100K options on mostly singletrack. Courses include multiple aid stations, substantial elevation gain, and specific equipment and pacer rules for the 100K.

A 12.5 mile point to point trail race on Donner Summit with four summits and about 3,300 feet of elevation gain across Sugar Bowl and Royal Gorge trails. Entry includes shuttle, raffle entry and a finisher item.

August 2026

A multi-loop trail marathon near Soda Springs, CA covering about 26.4 miles and 4,300 ft of gain across Royal Gorge land, with a central aid station, solo and relay options, parking at Soda Springs Ski Resort, and shuttle service to the aid..

A high Sierra trail event at Horse Canyon Trail Junction offering 5.6M, 10.5M, 21M and 50K options across alpine loops. The course sits near 7,400 feet with two aid stations, limited field size, and variable mountain weather.

Trail races based at Spooner Lake in Lake Tahoe Nevada State Park. The Marlette 50K covers about 30 miles of Sierra single track with Marlette Lake at mid course while the 10 Miler is a round trip to Marlette Lake.

Experience the beauty of Jenkinson Lake at Sly Park Recreation Area with trail distances ranging from a 5K to a 50K ultra marathon through scenic pine forests and rolling single track.

Desolate Peaks is a self-navigated peak bagging event in Desolation Wilderness near South Lake Tahoe. Runners choose 11, 17 or 21 peak circuits on unmarked off trail terrain requiring route finding, scrambling and creek crossings.

September 2026

A community run in Tahoe Vista with a 5K and a 1 mile fun run across grass fields, paved bike paths and park trails. Parking and a participant hat are included, and proceeds support a park nonprofit.
