Warrior Way 5K

The Warrior Way 5K is a trail running event held at George Whittell High School in Zephyr Cove, Nevada. Organized by the high school's student council and the Whittell Boosters Club, the event takes place on a campus surrounded by pine forests overlooking Lake Tahoe. The course features natural terrain including creek crossings, logs, trees, and rocks.

The event offers two main distances:

  • 5 km trail run
  • 800 m Warrior Dash Fun Run for children

The 5 km route is a trail run that takes place regardless of rain or snow. Due to the nature of the terrain, the trail is not stroller friendly, and pets are not permitted on school property. Participants in the 5K can be runners or walkers. The 800 m fun run is designed for younger participants, and all finishers in this category receive a popsicle and a prize.

Hot chocolate and medals are provided for participants. Event t-shirts, featuring designs created by students, are available for purchase separately. Proceeds from the race and sponsorships support student class fundraisers. Registration is open to the public, and there is also an option to donate to the student fundraiser without participating in the run.
