The Marlette 50K and 10 Miler trail runs take place at Spooner Lake in Nevada's Lake Tahoe State Park on August 9, 2026.

Courses

  • Marlette 50K: This event starts at Spooner Lake. The route uses trails in the area.
  • Marlette 10 Miler: This run also starts at Spooner Lake. It makes a loop around the lake before an out-and-back section on the Tahoe Rim Trail, finishing with another loop around the lake.
  • Spooner Lake 5K & 10K: These shorter events, also on August 9, 2026, involve circuits around Spooner Lake on trails.

Services and Information

Packet pick-up and on-site registration are available in the morning before the races. The event includes an event T-shirt, a finisher medal, free digital photos, and post-event food for participants.

Aid stations are placed along all courses, providing water, electrolyte drinks, and other items like salty snacks, cola, and gels. Medical staff are present at the venue.

Awards are given in 5-year age groups. Discounts are offered for clubs, teams, challenged athletes, and military personnel. Youth pricing applies to those 18 and under, and senior pricing for those 65 and older.

Trail runs nearby

A 5K snowshoe walk and race at Camp Richardson in South Lake Tahoe on March 1, 2026. The machine groomed course crosses forest and mountain meadows and the event benefits Metavivor, a metastatic breast cancer organization.

The Great Ski Race features 26 km and 10 km Nordic ski loops from Tahoe City's Cross Country Center. This fundraiser supports the volunteer Tahoe Nordic Search & Rescue team. A finish line party with food and music follows the skiing.

Trail races near Carson City NV with 22K, 11K and 5K options on single track and significant climbing. The 22K has two aid stations; the shorter distances have no stations and the field is capped at 200 runners.
