Friends of the Park - 5K & 1 mile Sprint

This community running event takes place on 09/05/2026 at the Tahoe Vista Recreation Area, 6600 Donner Rd., Tahoe Vista, CA. It offers two distances and is open to a range of ages and abilities. The course covers a mix of surfaces including grass ballfields, paved bike paths, and park trails.

  • 1 mile fun run : shorter loop on park paths and nearby paved areas

Participants receive a North Tahoe hat. Picnic areas at the Tahoe Vista Recreation Area beach and swimming area will be reserved for participants after the event. Refreshments and a recovery zone will be available. Parking fees are included for participants. Registration opens 04/09/2026 and closes 09/05/2026; the registration fee is $40.00. Trail runs nearby

A 12.5 mile point to point mountain trail race on Donner Summit near Soda Springs California. The course includes four summits, about 3,300 feet of elevation gain, shuttle transportation and a unique finisher item.

A multi-loop trail marathon near Soda Springs, CA covering about 26.4 miles and 4,300 ft of gain across Royal Gorge land, with a central aid station, solo and relay options, parking at Soda Springs Ski Resort, and shuttle service to the aid..
