Carson Valley Trails Run the Valley 5k, 10k and Family 2k

The event takes place at James Lee Memorial Park in Carson City and offers three off-road distances that use new sections of the Carson Valley Trails Association network. The 10k is a roughly 6 mile loop that begins at James Lee Park and includes a 0.25 mile single track climb before following several trails that form the Jacks Valley and James Lee loops. The 5k begins at the same location, follows a similar initial single track climb, and then explores the James Lee loops. The 2k family route uses a crushed granite path along the Indian Hills fitness course and returns on single track trails; the 2k is all dirt but allows off-road strollers and friendly leashed dogs.

Registration for the 5k and 10k includes a one year Carson Valley Trails Association membership for non members; current members receive a $10 discount code. The 5k and 10k have a registration fee listed at $35 and the 2k is free. Tech shirts are provided for 5k and 10k finishers, and 2k participants may purchase shirts as an add on if selected before August 31. Race bib pick up is on site on race morning and free parking is available at James Lee Memorial Park. Participants are advised to dress in layers for variable Northern Nevada weather.
