Trail Run at Sly Park - Summer

Trail Run at Sly Park takes place on Saturday, August 22, 2026, at the Sly Park Recreation Area near Jenkinson Lake. The event is limited to 100 runners per day. Race registration is available online through the evening before the event and race day registration is offered.

All distances start at the Scales Parking Lot. The 5K both starts and finishes at the Scales Parking Lot. All other distances start at Scales and finish at the Waterfall Trailhead; no race parking is allowed at the Waterfall Trailhead or the Sly Park Event Center. There is a $5 day use parking fee at the Scales Parking Lot payable in cash. Vehicles must be parked at Scales and runners for distances above 10K will walk about 0.5 miles to return to their vehicles.

The course follows trails around Jenkinson Lake. Most sections are single track with gently rolling hills, mixed with flat wide sections and short paved segments. The route begins with a short downhill on gravel followed by a steep quarter-mile climb, then follows relatively flat trails near the lake in a counterclockwise direction. Some sections are technical with rocks and roots.

Two aid stations serve the longer distances, located near the finish area and at Hazel Creek. Porta potties are available at the start and restrooms are available at the Waterfall Trailhead. All finishers receive a medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
