The 15th Annual Spirit of Benny 10K/5K Fun Run and Walk

The event is a family-friendly fundraiser held in downtown Placerville on the El Dorado Trail at Clay and Main Street on March 21, 2026. Proceeds support New Morning Youth & Family Services and other local non-profits serving seriously ill children and their families in El Dorado County. Race proceeds have been redirected specifically to counseling services for high-risk youth.

The event offers both a live option on the El Dorado Trail and a virtual option. Virtual participants may complete a 5K or 10K between March 21 and March 29, 2026, using a GPS app of their choice; results can be posted and an official Finisher's Certificate printed. Race bibs with timing chips are included only for live participants. Top three male and female finishers in the live event will receive engraved finisher medals; finisher medals are also listed for early registrants.

Race swag included with registration comprises a short sleeve tech tee, a canvas tote bag, and optional long sleeve hoody upgrade for an additional fee. First 150 registrants are noted for finisher medal allocation. Packet pick-up is available the day before the event at Gold Country Run+Sport in El Dorado Hills Town Center and on race day. Packet shipping for virtual participants is free if registered by March 5, 2026.
