Event Overview

The 15th Annual Spirit of Benny 10K/5K Fun Run and Walk is a fundraiser supporting non-profit organizations that help seriously ill children and their families in El Dorado County, California. For this final edition, proceeds will go to New Morning Youth & Family Services to support counseling services for high-risk youth.

Event Format

The event offers both a live in-person option and a virtual option.

  • The live event takes place on the El Dorado Trail in Downtown Placerville, California, between Clay and Main Streets.
  • The virtual option allows participants to complete a 5K or 10K on their own course between March 21 and 29, 2026, and post their results online.

Registration and Swag

Registration includes a short-sleeve tech t-shirt and a canvas tote bag. The first 150 registrants for the live event receive a finisher's medal. An optional upgrade to a long-sleeve hoody is available for an additional fee. Teams of 10 or more registered by February 20, 2026, can have their team name printed on the back of the t-shirts.
