Knickerbocker Canyon Trail Run
Knickerbocker Canyon Trail Run is a trail race organized by Inside Trail Racing in the Auburn and Cool, CA area, scheduled for March 2027. The event offers multiple distances on single-track trails that use sections of the historic Western States trail and follow the American River canyon.
Course highlights include running out to No Hands Bridge, a steep climb known locally as the K2 training hill, and a long series of switchbacks called the Dam Hill. The 5K and 10K courses run along river banks and canyon single-track. The Half Marathon and 35K cross No Hands Bridge, climb K2, and head toward Cool, CA. The longer distance returns to the river and climbs the Dam Hill. The course is varied with climbs, single-track, and riverbank sections.
