About the race
The Knickerbocker Canyon Trail Run is a late-March trail race produced by Inside Trail Racing in the Auburn and Cool, California area. The courses follow sections of the historic Western States trail, cross No Hands Bridge, include riverbank single-track, and climb notable trail features known locally as K2 and Dam Hill. The routes vary in terrain and include sustained climbs and switchbacks. Available distances: - 5K - 10K - Half Marathon - 35K The 35K has a 6.5 hour time limit.
Aid stations are stocked with a variety of energy foods and beverages such as gels, chews, trail mix, water, electrolyte drink mixes, fruit, and simple sandwiches; basic first aid supplies are provided but anti-inflammatory medicines are not available. Parking is free within American River Overlook Park and on adjacent streets. The event has a total capacity of 400 runners across all distances. Logistics include early bib pickup at a retail location in Roseville and race morning check-in at American River Overlook Park.
Race shirts are produced in a tri-blend performance fabric; to guarantee a shirt and size, registration must be completed by March 13, 2027. The organizer’s refund policy states entry fees are non-refundable, with limited credit options if cancellation occurs at least three weeks before the event.
