Gold Rush Growler 10 Mile and 5K Trail Runs

The Gold Rush Growler Trail Runs take place at Granite Beach, Folsom Lake State Recreation Area. The event offers two distances:

  • 10 miles
  • 5K (3.1 miles)

Both courses start and finish at Granite Beach and follow shoreline sections and single track trails. The 5K runs from the south end of Granite Beach north toward Oak Point and returns on a mix of new and established trails. The 10 mile course follows park road and trail sections through Old Oak Point Campground, Doton’s Point, Beeks Bight, Nude Beach, the Jedi Trail, Old County Road and the Original Climb before returning to Granite Beach.

Aid stations are located near Mile 2 Doton’s Point, Mile 4.5 Beeks Bight, and Mile 7.5 Old County and provide water, an electrolyte drink, and Hammer Gel. Listening devices such as MP3 players and headphones are allowed; runners must exercise caution when crossing roads and on trails.

Race packets are available race morning at the site. Divisions use ten-year age groups from 19 and under through 70 plus for males and females. Awards include overall male and female champion awards and top three awards in each age group. Each competitor receives a finisher beer glass and a postrace meal with soup or chili, fruit, cookies and a beverage. The venue address is 8000 Douglas Blvd, Granite Bay, CA 95746.
