Big Blue Trail Run
The XTERRA Lake Tahoe 5K and 10K trail runs start and finish at the Village Green in Incline Village, NV. The Village Green is a large open grass community field where the event is staged. From the start the course heads north onto the local trail system and passes through tall pines, aspens, and creek crossings. The 5K follows one lap of the loop; the 10K covers two laps, with the second lap beginning back in the venue to create a viewing area for spectators.
Organizers produce the XTERRA Lake Tahoe 5K and 10K in conjunction with the XTERRA Lake Tahoe triathlon. The 2025 event is not scheduled because several trails in the Spooner Backcountry are closed for the season due to impacts from the Marlette Lake Dam Resilient Infrastructure Project. Organizers explored reroute options and are planning future events, including the 2026 edition.
Entry fees are listed with a range: the 5K and 10K show fees between $55.00 and $65.00, and the 5K youth and senior category shows fees between $50.00 and $60.00; processing fees are not included. Race entry includes an event T-shirt, a free digital photo, a finisher medal, medical staff on course, and cold beverages and snacks. Awards are given by age group and overall.
