Ferris 50

Ferris 50 : Minden, NV

Ferris 50 is a multi-distance trail event in the eastern Carson Valley that uses single-track trails, OHV trails, and short paved sections. Routes traverse the foothills with views of Job's Peak and the Carson Valley and include varied surfaces such as dirt, gravel, sand, and pavement.

All races start at the Douglas County Fairgrounds and finish at TJ's Corral outside the Carson Valley Inn. Shuttles run from the host hotel to the start. Packet pickup and drop bag collection occur at TJ's Corral the day before the event; race day pickup is available at the same location prior to shuttle departure. Bag drops are available for the 50M and 50k distances and will be tagged at packet pickup.

Aid stations are provided along each course and are patrolled by OHV and mountain bike teams. Approximate aid station locations are published for each distance. Headlamps are required for 50M and 50k runners after 4 pm and will be checked beginning at Aid Station #5 for the 50M; 50M and 50k runners must begin with a light source. Pacers are generally not allowed; trekking poles are permitted. Crews are allowed with one vehicle per runner.

Finish area activities at TJ's Corral include music, food, drinks, and vendor booths. Awards and finisher items differ by distance with cash prizes for top placers in the 50M. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
