Event overview
Ferris 50 is an endurance running event in Minden, Nevada, with the Douglas County Fairgrounds as the start area and TJ’s Corral outside the Carson Valley Inn as the finish and festival area. The event offers the following distances:
- 50 Miler
- 50K
- 15K
The finish area at TJ’s Corral will include music, food, drinks, and vendor booths. Registered racers are eligible for a special rate at the host hotel, Carson Valley Inn.
Course and aid stations
Courses traverse foothills of the eastern Carson Valley using single-track trails, OHV trails, and some pavement. Surfaces include dirt, gravel, sand, and pavement, and the route uses active OHV and mountain bike trails. Participants may encounter wild horses, coyotes, and other high desert animals.
Aid stations and bag drop details:
- 50 Miler: 7 aid stations at approximately mile 9.5, 15.7, 21.9, 29, 34.6, 41.2, and 46.2. Bag drops available at mile 15.7 and mile 41.2.
- 50K: 4 aid stations at approximately mile 9.5, 15.7, 21.9, and 26.9. Bag drops available at mile 15.7 and mile 21.9.
- 15K: 3 aid stations at approximately mile 3, mile 5, and mile 7.
Headlamps are required for 50M and 50k runners after 4 pm and runners must begin with a light source. Safety patrols via OHV and mountain bike will cover the course.
Logistics and policies
Packet pickup and drop-bag collection occur at TJ’s Corral at the Carson Valley Inn. Shuttles will run from the Carson Valley Inn to the start area and free parking is available at the hotel. Registrations are non-refundable; a 75% credit toward next year’s UltraSignUp fee may be available for withdrawals made at least 30 days before race day. Online registration closes November 4, 2026, and registering by October 1, 2026 is recommended to guarantee an event shirt.
Awards
50M finishers receive a long sleeve finisher shirt, a race buckle, and cash prizes for the top three overall in male and female divisions ($500, $250, $150). 50K and 15K finishers receive a long sleeve finisher shirt and a race medal; 50K top finishers receive local merchandise prizes.
