Kokanee Trail Runs

The Kokanee Trail Runs is scheduled for October 4, 2026, in South Lake Tahoe, California. The event includes multiple trail races on and near the shore of Fallen Leaf Lake and the slopes of Tahoe Mountain. It is organized by Tahoe Mountain Milers and is Road Runners Club of America sanctioned.

Distances offered:

1/2 Marathon : 12.63 miles, 1,387 feet of gain
10K : 6.54 miles, 618 feet of gain
5K : 3.4 miles, 263 feet of gain
Tadpole Trot : half mile, non-competitive for children 12 and under

Aid stations are placed on course and are stocked with water, Tailwind, and snacks. Tailwind is listed as the official drink. Rapid Hydration is available at the finish area. Participants are encouraged to carry a reusable cup or handheld for aid station fill ups to limit waste.

Start and finish are located at South Tahoe High School football field with parking and restrooms available on site. Early packet pickup takes place at Camp Richardson Resort Oktoberfest the day before the race. Event shirts are made from 100% recycled materials; adult unisex sizes are long sleeve while kids sizes are short sleeve. Awards are provided for finishers and top runners in each gender and age division. Proceeds from the 2026 event benefit Nevada Humane Society and Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe.
