The Kokanee Trail Runs take place Sunday, October 5, 2025, in South Lake Tahoe, California. The event includes a half marathon, 10K, 5K and a non-competitive half-mile Tadpole Trot for children 12 and under. The race is RRCA sanctioned and offers finisher awards for all participants plus prizes for top finishers in each gender and age division. Course, logistics and rules

  • 12.63 miles - Half Marathon (about 1,387 ft gain)
  • 6.54 miles - 10K (about 618 ft gain)
  • 3.4 miles - 5K (about 263 ft gain)
  • 0.5 miles - Tadpole Trot (non-competitive, children 12 and under)

The start/finish area is at South Tahoe High School, with parking in the school lots and restrooms at the football field. Early packet pickup is available the day before at Camp Richardson's Oktoberfest. Aid stations: three on the half marathon, two on the 10K, and a water stop on the 5K; aid stations are stocked with water, Tailwind, and snacks. Tailwind is the official on-course drink; Rapid Hydration is provided at the finish. Safety rules prohibit headphones, dogs, strollers, and baby joggers.
