Trail Running calendar near Ruthin 2026-2027

A 48 mile point to point ultra from Mid Wales Art Centre to Shrewsbury following the River Severn, with four checkpoints, vegan and gluten free food options, required 4.0 mph minimum pace and a bespoke finisher medal.

A category BS fell race on 9 July 2026 at Thurlstone Gala/Football Field, South Yorkshire, featuring a single-lap undulating 6.4 km course. Entry fee is £6 and prizes include age-group awards plus cash for breaking listed course records.

A 59 mile point to point ultramarathon following much of the River Severn from Shrewsbury to Worcester. The race has four checkpoints with vegan and gluten free options and enforces a minimum pace of 4.0 miles per hour.

Gyrn Gallop is a 10.6 km fell race from Rhiwlas Village near Llansilin with about 350 m of ascent on a partially marked course requiring some experience. Entry on the day is £7 and the minimum age is over 15.

Trail races in Llanberis on 11 to 12 July 2026 include 10K, half, marathon and a 57 km ultra that pass Rhyd Ddu, Beddgelert, Nant Gwynant, Pen y Pass and Yr Wyddfa. The event offers an event village, on course support and chip timing.

A 24 hour trail challenge from Llanberis around Yr Wyddfa where solo runners or relay teams aim for as many ascents and descents as possible. The event is UTMB indexed, has event village facilities, on course support and charity fundraising..

A 5 km adventure run with obstacles in Holme Village on the edge of the Lake District. Part of the Festival of Sport weekend, open to participants aged 12 and over with a 200 entrant limit.

Trail races from Slaithwaite follow the Huddersfield canal out to Tunnel End, with four distance options, on course feed stations and marshals. Parking is limited and registration is at Slaithwaite Community Centre.

A circular outdoor challenge from Hallow with five waymarked routes through 12 local parishes, distances from 10 to 40 miles. Entry includes checkpoint refreshments and a hot meal at the finish.

Trail event at Carding Mill Valley offering 10K, half marathon and marathon routes across the Shropshire Hills and Long Mynd, with marked trails, aid stations and a medal included.

Take on the Charlesworth & Chisworth Carnival Fell Race on Sat 11 Jul 2026 in the Peak District, a testing 5 km / 3.1 mile course with 180 m of climb. Pre entry and entry on the day plus junior races make this a great community running day.

Phoenix Blaze is the second race in a 2026 Summer Series at Hardy Farm on 11 July 2026, featuring timed laps on a 5.3 km riverside course so participants can complete distances from 5 km up to ultra within a seven hour limit.

A 11.1 km trail race at Stonyhurst College on 11 July 2026, following woodland paths, rivers and historic bridges. Entry includes a medal, chip timing, professional photography and an event village with food vendors.

A short 1.6 km hill race with 95 m of climb on Sugar Lane in Rainow on 11 July 2026, held as part of the Rainow Village Fete. Open to runners aged 8 and over with entry on the day.

A charity trek at Tittesworth Reservoir offering 10, 20 and 30 mile routes, team entry options and a mandatory kit list. Proceeds support a climate resilient water, sanitation and hygiene project in Bangladesh.

A charity Pretty Muddy 5k at Cofton Park on 11 July 2026 with a grass, partly hilly obstacle course. Participants must be 13 or older and receive a fundraising pack, back sign and a finisher medal.

A roughly 17 mile circular self navigation route from Parwich in the Derbyshire Dales with about 2,000 ft of ascent. The event includes three aid stations and a collect and deliver Quest alongside a six hour overall time limit.

A 9.7 km fell race in Peak Forest with 247 m of climb, marked route and marshals. On-day registration is at the Reading Room and free parking is provided on the village recreation ground.
