Drone Valley Trail Half Marathon

The Drone Valley Trail Half Marathon is the second edition of a 13.1 mile trail race based at Drone Valley Brewery in Unstone, Derbyshire. The route starts and finishes at the brewery and passes through forests, fields, bridleways, riverside paths and some minor roads.

The course includes approximately 1,700 feet of elevation with a mix of climbs and runnable sections. There is one aid station located halfway; otherwise the route is largely self navigated and unsupported. Entrants receive a GPX file and a PDF of written race instructions, with final versions to be emailed to competitors within two weeks of the event.

Entries are open for the 2026 event and have specified early bird and standard fees: early bird prices of £23 for UKA affiliated runners and £25 for unaffiliated runners, and standard prices of £27 for UKA affiliated runners and £29 for unaffiliated runners. A minimum age of 18 applies. No dogs are permitted and refunds are only given if the event is cancelled. Parking is not available at the brewery; parking is available in a layby a few hundred metres up the road.

Safety provision includes marshals at the most hazardous road crossings and first aid cover at the start and finish area, the halfway aid station and at points on the course. Mandatory kit includes at least 1 litre water capacity, a waterproof jacket, warm layers, an emergency blanket, a whistle, emergency snacks and a charged mobile phone with the event contact number saved and what3words available.
