The Drone Valley Trail Half Marathon is a self-guided trail race of 13.1 miles held on 11 October 2025. The event starts and finishes at Drone Valley Brewery in Unstone, Derbyshire (Unit 2, Unstone Business Complex, S18 4AB). The organiser is Peaks and Dales Guiding.
The course runs through forest paths, fields, bridleways and minor roads. The route includes about 1,700 feet of elevation and one aid station located at the halfway point. The route is largely unsupported and self-navigated; runners receive a GPX file and a PDF of written race instructions. The final GPX version was updated on 29 September 2025 and will be emailed to entrants before the event.
Entry, rules and safety
Entries open 27 March 2025 and close 10 October 2025. Minimum age is 18. Entry fees are £23 for UK Athletics affiliated runners and £25 for unaffiliated runners; a £2 discount applies to UKA affiliated entries. The race is run under UK Athletics rules. Refunds are only given if the event is cancelled.
Included items are a finisher’s medal, a voucher for a free pint or non-alcoholic option (redeemable on race day), light refreshments at the halfway aid station, and first aid cover at key points. Mandatory kit includes at least 1 litre water capacity, waterproof jacket, warm layers, emergency blanket, whistle, emergency snacks, and a charged mobile phone.
