Drone Valley Trail Half Marathon

The Drone Valley Trail Half Marathon is scheduled for 10 October 2026 and starts and finishes at Drone Valley Brewery in Unstone, Derbyshire. It is the second edition of a 13.1 mile trail race routed through local forests, fields, bridleways and minor roads.

The course is predominantly trail with approximately 1,700 feet of elevation, including some sustained climbs and plenty of more runnable sections. There is one midway aid station offering light refreshments; otherwise the route is largely self navigated and unsupported. Runners will receive a GPX file and a PDF of written race instructions, with final versions emailed to entrants before the event.

Safety provisions include first aid cover at the start and finish area, at the halfway aid station and positioned on the course. Some busy road crossings will have marshals, but runners must remain alert. There is no parking at the brewery; parking is available in a layby a few hundred metres up the road.

Entry information notes a minimum age of 18, no dogs permitted, and a refund policy that refunds only if the event is cancelled. Early August entry pricing applies for a limited period; early bird and standard fees differ for UKA affiliated and unaffiliated entrants. Mandatory kit includes at least 1 litre water capacity, a waterproof jacket, warm layers, an emergency blanket, a whistle, emergency snacks and a charged mobile phone.
