The Good Race at Mount Cook Adventure Centre : 18 July 2026

The Good Race is a summer trail event held at Mount Cook Adventure Centre, DE4 4LS, on 18 July 2026. The main route is a circular course of roughly 10km (ish) that starts on the High Peak Trail and passes through grassy fields, shady lanes, and sandy moors. The course covers about 280 m of elevation spread over a gently undulating route. A GPX file is noted as coming soon and waymarked routes are provided on race day.

Entries are processed through SiEntries and close at noon on 17 July 2026. Entry includes professional timing with full race results, entry into The Good Race Raffle, secure bag drop, a downloadable route map, and marshals qualified in outdoor first aid. The raffle winner will nominate a school, youth charity, or community group to receive 100% of the race profits as a Mount Cook Adventure Centre voucher. Organisers state that race fees cover race operating costs and that any surplus will be donated to the nominated organisation.

Participants must be aged 18 or over on the event date. The race is licensed by the TRA and will be held under UK Athletics rules. Runners are subject to a mandatory kit check; required items include suitable off-road running shoes, a raincoat, hat or buff, emergency water (minimum 150 ml) and nutrition, and a fully charged mobile phone. Failure to present mandatory kit may result in disqualification without refund.

Additional event features on the day include Mount Cook Adventure Centre activities, food and drink for purchase, and local parking and public transport options. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
