A forest trail half marathon in late September with no road crossings, chip and gun timing, water stations and medals for finishers, organised by the local Rotary Club.

Trail races at Salisbury Racecourse offer marathon, half marathon and 10 km over undulating downland with woodland and Martin Down turf. GPX routes are provided and finishers receive a medal; top three men and women earn trophies.

October 2026

A waymarked 100 miles circumnavigation of Dartmoor across varied moorland, woodland and riverside trails with six indoor checkpoints and GPS tracking. A 51 miles Granite 50 option follows the eastern section with three checkpoints.

A three day coastal challenge from near Padstow to Lands End covering up to 78.6 miles with GPS tracking, staffed checkpoints, daily transport from event HQ and on course medical support.

A 50 mile trail race across eastern Dartmoor with over 2000 metres of ascent, multiple checkpoints, GPS support and a 15 hour time allowance, starting in Scorriton and finishing in Okehampton.

A point to point 50 km ultramarathon from Moors Valley Country Park to Hengistbury Head, following forest trails, the Castleman Trailway and the Bournemouth seafront, with feed stations, GPS route files and a bespoke finisher medal.

Cornwall Backyard Ultra sends runners on hourly 6.7 km loops between Bedruthan Steps and St Eval, with coastal views and on site camping. This open ended endurance test finishes when one runner remains after completing a lap.

A 40 mile coastal endurance event from Fistral Beach to St Ives Bay Holiday Park following the South West Coast Path, with GPS tracking, staffed checkpoints and medical cover for participants.

A multi terrain 10 mile race through Stover Country Park with a separate 1 mile Fun Run for children. The event is limited to 325 runners and offers medals, parking, changing rooms and free race photos.

A trail half marathon through the Quantock Hills with technical trails, climbs, stiles and stream crossings. The route has marshals, two feed stations and clear signage, with awards for top finishers and weekend camping and bunkhouse option..

Lap-based trail event on the Wray Valley Trail from Mill Marsh Park offering distances from 5 km to ultramarathon and medal or no-medal entry options.

An annual off road marathon from Salisbury to Winchester along the historic Clarendon Way, offering full, half, mini and relay options and organised by local Rotary clubs.

A chip timed 10 km trail race on 4 October 2026 through Somerset countryside, passing a prehistoric long barrow. The event includes a bespoke medal, Race Nation app support, camping nearby and proceeds shared with two charities.

A seaside 12 km race in Studland Bay, Dorset, starting and finishing at the National Trust visitors centre. Prizes for the top three men and women and a race memento for all participants.

Trail event at Ashton Court Estate offering 6 km and 10 km trail or ruck options with GORUCK Rucker 4.0 and competitive or open categories.

Trail 10K from Mount Hawke cricket club on coastal footpaths around Chapel Porth and Porthtowan with a loop by Tywarnhayle mine; places limited to 230 runners.

Autumn Challenge Day 1 on 10 October 2026 near Exmouth features 5.3 km tarmac laps on an accurately measured road course with a flexible start under an 8 hour timed format.
