Atlantic Coast Ultra - 40 miler

The Atlantic Coast Ultra is a single-day 40 mile event on 3rd October 2026 that follows the South West Coast Path from Fistral Beach in Newquay down past Hayle River Mouth to finish at St Ives Bay Holiday Park. The route uses the Acorn waymarks and emphasizes self-navigation along a well-worn coastal path.

Terrain is described as wild and rugged with steep climbs and descents. Checkpoints are placed at roughly ten mile intervals; each checkpoint logs competitor times, is stocked with food and drinks, and has event medics available. A bowl of hot homemade soup is provided at the finish.

Event HQ is at St Ives Bay Holiday Park TR27 5BH. Transport is provided from the event HQ to the start and for participants who retire. The HQ offers camping, parking, catering from the on-site cafe, and nearby shower and toilet facilities; accommodation keys are collected at the HQ.

Organised by Epic Endurance Events CIC, the entry fee covers a GPS tracker supplied by Geo Tracks with live tracking, an event T-shirt, a bespoke finisher medal, on-course food and drink, medical cover, on-course support and minibus pick up for retired participants, and an event instructions pack. Participants must carry the compulsory kit and will be subject to kit checks before participation. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
