Tywardreath Trotter

The Tywardreath Trotter is an annual Saturday evening running event held between 24th and 30th July in Tywardreath on the south coast of mid Cornwall. The event is part of the village summer fete and the Cornwall Multi-Terrain Race Series. Races start and finish at the local pub, the New Inn, in the centre of the village.

Two races are offered:

  • 7 mile multi-terrain race, open to competitors aged 16 or over.
  • 1 mile fun run, open to all ages.

The course is approximately half off-road and uses a mix of footpaths, bridleways and quiet country lanes. The route includes an initial lap around the village before heading into the local countryside and is described as hilly with some ups and downs. Marshals and local residents provide support along the route and there is a crowd reception on return to the village.

Since 2006 the event has raised over £50,000 for local charities. The race is organised by the local Village Fete Committee and takes place in and around Tywardreath village, PL24 2QP. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
