The Tywardreath Trotter is an annual running event in Tywardreath, Cornwall. It is held each year on a Saturday evening between 24 and 30 July and forms part of the village summer fete. The race start and finish are at the New Inn in the centre of the village. The event is part of the Cornwall Multi-Terrain Race Series and is organised by the local village fete committee.

Course and participation

The event includes the following distances:

  • 1 mile

The 7-mile race is open to competitors aged 16 or over. The 1-mile fun run is open to all ages. The course is multi-terrain and is roughly half off-road. It uses a mix of footpaths, bridleways, green lanes and quiet country lanes. The route includes an initial lap around the village before heading into the local countryside and contains some hills and undulating sections. Marshals and local residents provide support along the route. Since 2006 the event has raised over £50,000 for local charities.
