Tywardreath Trotter

The Tywardreath Trotter is an annual evening running event held in Tywardreath on the south coast of mid Cornwall between 24 and 30 July. The race is part of the village summer fete and is based in the centre of the village at the New Inn.

The event comprises the following distances:

  • 7 mile multi terrain race (age 16 or over)
  • 1 mile fun run open to all ages

The main race is approximately half off road and uses a mix of footpaths, bridleways, green lanes and quiet country lanes. The course includes an initial lap around the village before heading into the local countryside and features some climbs and descents. The start and finish are at the New Inn and marshals and local residents provide support along the route. Competitors return to a crowd in the heart of the village.

Organised by the local village fete committee, the event is part of the Cornwall Multi Terrain Race Series and has been held since 2006. Since then the race has raised over £50,000 for local charities. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
