West 100

Camborne, United Kingdom • 8-9 Aug 2026

Event Overview

The West 100 is a team trail running event featuring 100-mile distances on routes in Cornwall. Participants run as part of a group of five, with the aim of assisting all team members to finish. The event requires completion within 36 hours.

Key Details

The event includes several support services. A crew will transport participants from a base location to the start point and provide support throughout the run, meeting runners approximately every 5 to 6 miles. The crew provides water, soft drinks, sweets, crisps, and simple hot food, though runners are expected to supply their own main nutrition.

A specific kit list is mandatory, including items such as a high-specification waterproof jacket, windproof trousers, a hydration system, a bivvy bag, and headtorches. Participants must arrange their own transport to and from the designated base location, as driving after the event is not permitted. An emergency contact who can collect a runner if needed is required.

Requirements and Rules

There are qualification requirements for entry. Applicants must have completed a 100 km event in under 20 hours and have experience with night running during an event.

The event operates as a self-navigated team effort. Runners who move ahead of the group are required to wait for all team members at crew points before proceeding. While there are no fixed cut-off times, time at checkpoints is limited. The organisers reserve the right to ask a participant to retire if they are struggling and affecting the group's cohesion. In the case of a major medical incident, the event will be cancelled. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
