The Woods 2027

The Woods is a running event located on the North Coast at Tehidy Woods. The event is held under a United Kingdom Athletics (UKA) and Association of Running Clubs (ARC) permit. Participants navigate a course consisting of a 4 mile loop within the woodland area.

The event structure allows runners to select a specific time duration rather than a fixed distance. There are four distinct options available for selection:

  • Rowan: 3 hours
  • Ash: 6 hours
  • Beech: 9 hours
  • Oak: 12 hours

The results are determined by the maximum number of laps completed within the chosen time frame. While individual runners are responsible for their participation, the event allows for support from a personal crew, though support runners are not permitted on the course itself.

Registration is open to participants over 18 years of age. Different entry fees apply based on whether the runner is affiliated with a club or non-affiliated. The organizers provide policies for refunds up to four weeks before the event and deferrals up to two weeks before the start date. In the instance of severe weather warnings from the Met Office, such as Amber or Red alerts, the event may be rescheduled or transitioned to a virtual format.
