Tri-Counties Trail Running stages Race on the Chase at Salisbury Racecourse (SP2 8PN) on Sunday 28th September 2025. The venue provides permanent toilets, hot showers and a large area of hard parking. It is about 3 miles from Salisbury city centre. The 2025 event marks the sixth anniversary of this race.

Course and races

The event offers multiple distances:

  • Half marathon
  • 10k

All courses run on undulating downland and follow ancient tracks known as droves. Routes use grassy field margins, shady woodland paths and turf within Martin Down Nature Reserve. Vertical climb for each course is Marathon 625 m, Half marathon 329 m and 10k 133 m. Runners pass through rural villages and wide-open countryside with notable historic features along the way. The area includes Cranborne Chase, a Roman villa site at Rockbourne, Bronze Age burial mounds and the Iron Age earthwork Bockerley Dike. An earth mound on Martin Down is linked to a former World War 2 rifle range. Every finisher receives a medal, and the first three finishers in each event for men and women receive trophies. Take on the New Forest Stinger, a 10 mile off road trail around Ocknell Campsite in Fritham. Enjoy club camaraderie, a finisher medal, goody bag and age trophies in a limited field of trail fans.

Join the Wessex Night League in Kings Worthy for a 60 minute touch free score orienteering across urban streets and wooded areas. Bring hi viz and lights; day entry allowed subject to limits and juniors under 16 must be accompanied.

Explore Pewsey Downs near Alton Barnes with orienteering courses for all abilities, from easy beginner routes to challenging expert courses. Scenic chalk downland, waterproof maps and electronic timing. Online entry only.

Night orienteering in Brockenhurst: a 60 minute score event in the New Forest. Visit as many controls as you can for points using SIAC timing and waterproof maps, and bring high visibility clothing and lights for after dark navigation.
