Course and location

The event uses Salisbury Racecourse as the venue. The venue has indoor space, permanent toilets, hot showers and a large area of hard parking. It is about 3 miles from Salisbury city centre. All race distances follow similar terrain: undulating downland, ancient tracks (droves), grassy field margins, shady woodland paths and the turf of Martin Down Nature Reserve. Routes pass through open countryside and near villages. The course runs through an area with historical features including Roman remains at Rockbourne, Bronze Age burial mounds, Bockerley Dike (an Iron Age earthwork) on parts of the marathon and half routes, and a large earth mound on Martin Down linked to a WW2 rifle range.
