Event overview

The Atlantic Coast Challenge is a three-day coastal challenge from near Padstow to Lands End on the South West Coast Path. The 2026 dates are Friday 2nd, Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th October. Entrants may choose to complete one, two or all three days, covering up to 78.6 miles in total. The event is organised by Epic Endurance Events CIC. Every starter receives an event T-shirt and every finisher receives a finishers medal and a Cornish pasty.

Logistics and course

Event HQ is at St Ives Bay Holiday Park, TR27 5BH. Prices listed are: 3 Days entry - £210, Single-day entry - £75; accommodation is not included. Distances by day:

  • 42.2 KM Day One: Nr Padstow - Perranporth
  • 42.2 KM Day Two: Perranporth - St Ives Bay Holiday Park
  • 44.3 KM Day Three: Lelant - Lands End

The route follows the South West Coast Path and is marked by the Acorn sign. Terrain is described as wild and rugged with steep climbs and descents. Checkpoints are located approximately every 10KM and provide bars, sweets, salty snacks, filled rolls, water, squash, coke and hot drinks at some CPs. Included services: GPS tracker supplied by Geo Tracks, food and drink on course, transport between HQ and daily starts/finishes, medical cover, on-course support and mini bus pick-up for retired participants, event participant instructions and free parking at HQ. A compulsory kit list must be carried by each participant. Start groups are split on day one into walkers/joggers and runners. Onsite catering operates at the Bay View Cafe. Trail runs nearby

Take on a scenic 11 mile point to point trail along the European cultural route from Lelant to Marazion, passing Trencrom and Ludgvan. Multi terrain coastal views and village charm make this a memorable winter trail challenge.

Enjoy the Fairy Tale of Newquay, a coastal run finishing at Porth Beach. Choose 30 mile ultramarathon, 15 mile Long Half or 8 mile The Pisky with canicross entries, medals for finishers and support for Newquay Coastguard.

Run a rugged 10 km across Perranporth beach, dunes and coastal moorland with over 1,000 feet of ascent in the revamped St Piran's Revenge trail. Expect sandy climbs, handmade finisher medals and a lively surf club finish.

Run under fading light at Tehidy Country Park on 17 January 2026 with 2.5 km, 5 km and 10 km distances for all abilities. All finishers get a Twilight Run medal and personalised bibs, plus free photos and a friendly canicross welcome.
