A 10 km fell race with 258 m climb at Orton C of E Primary School on 26 September 2026, senior entries for ages 16+, teams of three, and junior races with on-the-day entry.

A 22 km fell race from Tilberthwaite Farm with about 1,535 m of ascent on a route new from 2025. Run under FRA rules, entry is limited to 350 and requires mandatory kit and navigation skills.

A 30 km hill race from Traquair House to Broughton Ales across the Scottish Borders with roughly 1500 m of ascent. The route uses hill tracks and open heather, has eight marshalled checkpoints and requires mandatory emergency kit.

Trail running festival at Dalkeith Country Park on 27 September 2026 with distances from a family mile to an ultra, Canicross option and live chip timing.

A 10K trail run at Rising Sun Country Park on 27 September 2026 through grasslands and woodlands, canicross friendly with marshals and live chip timing.

On 27 September 2026 the Floors Castle Trail Race offers 10km, 5km and a Junior 3km through the castle grounds and woodlands, with a race village on the main lawn and a finish line in front of Floors Castle.

MapRun navigation event at Braithwaite Institute in the Lake District on 27 Sep 2026. Category O event using MapRun; pre-entry via SiEntries (£7) or entry on the day (£10). Minimum age 14 with 14–17 year olds accompanied by an adult.

A 5k canicross and family event in Northumberland on 27 September 2026 featuring obstacles, mud and returning paddleboards. Timed and way marked, entries include a wooden medal, photos and treats for human and dog.

October 2026

Two fully tracked trail ultras in October 2026: a 104-mile course from Dufton and a 50-mile course from Croft-on-Tees, both finishing in Skinningrove with checkpoints and set cut-offs.

A Backyard Ultra in Cumbria with a 6.706 km loop every hour, runnable trails and Lake District views, with camping and self supported aid on site.

3 Oct 2026 OCR at Wheatrig Farm featuring a 3km with about 25 obstacles and a 400m sprint with 12 obstacles; youth and competitive divisions, limited entries.

A family-friendly mud run at Chatelherault Country Park featuring a 1 km children's course and a 5 km family course with obstacles and water hazards.

Trail runs at Dodd Wood offering 8K and 5K marked, chip timed courses where dogs run on a harness and most sections allow two dogs per runner.

Scenic two lap 10 km trail at Dalemain Mansion with 3.3 km and 2.3 km children's fun runs, raising funds for Jigsaw Children's Hospice and local causes.

A roughly 10km trail race in the Derwent Valley with a fully marked and marshalled course through woodland, rocky sections and a stream crossing; entrants must be 18 or over.

A fell race at Wasdale Head on 10 October 2026 that climbs to Kirk Fell over 2.4 miles with about 700 m ascent. Age groups run from Under 12 to Seniors and specific waterproof kit is compulsory.

A 57 miles ultramarathon from Glasgow to Edinburgh along canals and towpaths, with GPS tracking, mandatory kit requirements and a 16 hour cut off. The event has 750 places and is scheduled for October 2026 and October 2027.

Multi-distance running in Stirling on 10 October 2026, featuring 70 km and 50 km ultras, a flat 10 km out and back, and a traffic free 1 mile for young runners.
