Race format, categories and requirements

The course distance and climb are 2.40 miles / 3.80 km with approximately 2300 feet / 700 meters of climb. Age categories are Under 12, Under 14, Under 17 and Seniors; there is no Under 9s category. Kit requirements are specified: Under 12 and Under 14 competitors must wear a waterproof jacket with taped seams; Under 17 and Senior competitors must wear waterproof jacket and trousers with taped seams, plus hat and gloves. The organiser states a strict NO KIT: NO RACE policy and that fluorescent jackets without taped seams are not acceptable.
