The Three Shires Fell Race is scheduled for Saturday 26 September 2026 and is held under category AL. The event is sponsored by OMM and is a counter for the Lakeland Classics Trophy. The venue is Tilberthwaite Farm. Entry is via SI Entries, opening on 1 July, with entries closing on Wednesday 18 September and a limit of 350 entrants. There are no entries on the day. Entry fees are £16 for FRA members and £18 for non-FRA members. The venue is reached by narrow roads.

Course and safety

The course distance is 22 km / 12.4 miles with a total climb of 1535 m / 4003 ft. The route starts and finishes at Tilberthwaite Farm and passes the following checkpoints: Lingmoor (GR 302 046), Pike of Blisco (GR 272 042), Three Shires Stone (GR 276 027), Great Carrs (GR 270 009), Wetherlam (GR 288 011) and a tarn (GR 294 993). There are two flagged sections guiding runners from the farm to the bottom of Lingmoor near Dale End Farm and back from the top of Tilberthwaite Gill, ensuring use of the southern path to Tilberthwaite.

Racing is under FRA rules. Use of GPS for navigation is not permitted. Minimum kit checks will be made and the following items are required: MAP, COMPASS, WHISTLE, FULL WET WEATHER COVER, HAT AND GLOVES. Emergency rations are advised. Run classic Lake District fell country at the Blake Fell Race on 31 January 2026, a testing 9.5 km course with 429 m of climb around The Leaps. Entries are limited to 120 so book early for this spirited winter challenge.
