April 2027

A 100 km ultramarathon across the Lake District following Wainwright's Coast to Coast route. It starts at St Bees on the west coast and finishes at Shap, open to entrants aged 18+ with an entry fee of £170.

A 300km self supported ultra race following Wainwright's Coast to Coast route from St Bees to Robin Hood's Bay. Entries open 1 June 2026; minimum age 18 and a total entry fee of £999 with a non refundable deposit.

Trail running in quieter parts of Whinlatter forest on 4 April 2027 with two marked, chip timed routes. Dogs are allowed on suitable harnesses and GPX files are available.

Trail running in Hawkshead with marked 10 km and 16 km routes, scenic Lake District views and the steep Coffin Trail climb. Courses are marshalled with water stations, event village facilities and category prizes for eligible starters.

The Lake District Running Festival will take place in Keswick on Saturday 10 April 2027. You can run between 23 and 53 kilometers.

A community charity relay at Haverthwaite Station near Ulverston with mixed teams formed on the day and an entry fee of £3 per person. Parking is at the station and a free train service is provided for runners and spectators.

A canicross event in Dodd Wood with fully marked forest courses and views over Bassenthwaite Lake. Options of an 8K or 5K loop, chip timed, and allows two dogs per runner on mainly wide trails.

Final Lakeland Paws Season 5 event at Whinlatter with two fully marked trail routes, chip timed, dog friendly options and season prize giving.

May 2027

Trail running at Staveley, Cumbria with 5 km, 10 km and half marathon routes on marked, marshalled trails, varied terrain and an event village offering music, food and merchandise.

A 14 km fell race in Coniston on 1 May 2027 with 1065 m of ascent, pre entry only via SI Entries and fees for members and non members; parking is at Coniston CE Primary School only.

A fully signposted 47-mile / 75 km ultra around Lake Windermere with live GPS tracking, six feed stations and a halfway shoe-bag service. Entry includes a waterproof map, a wooden finisher medal and a finishers meal.

Trail races on sections of the Kintyre Way in Scotland, with varied terrain from hills and woods to beaches and seaside rocks. Runners can enter solo or as part of relay teams and benefit from waymarking, checkpoints and GPS timing.

June 2027

Ultra Scotland 50 & 100 Mile on 5 June 2027 in the United Kingdom offers supported ultramarathon options of 50 miles and 100 miles as part of the Ultra Great Britain Race Series with live online GPS tracking.

The Scafell Sky Race will take place in Wasdale Head on Saturday 5 June 2027. You can run 38 kilometers.

A three day multi day ultra running challenge along the Cumbria Way in the Lake District, from Ulverston to Carlisle with overnight stays in Great Langdale and Keswick. Small group format with bag transfer and a host accompanying the team.

July 2027

A 57 km mountain race in Patterdale with 3700 m ascent and a 14.5 hour cutoff. The course crosses ridgelines and classic Lake District features with GPS tracking, manned checkpoints and ITRA UTMB ranking points.

A technical sky race on 17 July 2027 around the Helvellyn Massif, covering 28 km with 2700 m ascent and hands on rock sections. Entry requires minimum age 19 and verified mountain running and climbing experience.

A summer running festival at Hillsborough Castle and Gardens on 25 July 2027 offering 10K and Half Marathon routes, chip timing, kilometre markers, a themed medal and free race photos in support of Northern Ireland Hospice.

May 2028

A 31.3 mile single day ultra from Innerleithen to Travelodge Edinburgh Airport, MTC GLAISTIG is Day 2 of the nine day MTC SCOTIA end to end challenge. Entry is limited and organisers enforce a 4.0 mph minimum pace with preset cut offs.
