Entry is by pre-entry only via SI Entries. The event has an entry limit of 300 runners and a minimum age of 18. Entry fees are listed as £10 for FRA members and £15 for non-members; there are no entries on the day. Substitutions are allowed until entries close on 30 April.

All entrants must have fell-running experience and the ability to navigate with map and compass. Mandatory kit includes a waterproof jacket and trousers with taped seams, map and compass, whistle, hat, gloves and emergency food. Navigation is by traditional map and compass only; GPS use is forbidden except in an emergency and must be declared. Running poles are not permitted. Race numbers must be worn on the front of the vest and will be checked at registration. All checkpoints must be visited in order. There is a 90 minute cut-off at Swirl Hause; this may be reduced in bad weather.

Parking is at Coniston CE Primary School only with a charge per car. Teas and refreshments will be available at the institute. All proceeds from race entries will be donated to Coniston Mountain Rescue Team. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
