Ultra Scotland 100 is a 104-mile trail ultramarathon with approximately 4,611 m of elevation, scheduled for Saturday 6 June 2026. The route follows the Southern Upland Way from St Johns Town of Dalry to Galashiels and passes notable points including Benbrack, Gateshaw Rig, Lowther Hill (701 m), Minch Moor, Daer Reservoir, Three Brethren and St Mary’s Loch. The event has 250 places, a race cut-off of 38 hours, and an entry fee of £209. The race holds UTMB performance index and ITRA mountain points and uses live online GPS tracking via GB Race Tracker.

Logistics and rules

Participants must meet entry criteria (minimum age 20 and prior marathon distance) and attend all checkpoints for recording or face disqualification. Some checkpoints are water-only (CP2, CP6, CP9); others provide hot food, drinks and medical cover. Mandatory kit must be carried at all times and includes a hardcopy Southern Upland Way map, waterproof coat (sealed seams, min 10,000 mm), base plate compass, spare base layer, 1-litre water container, charged mobile phone, emergency thermal bag, headtorch (min 75 lumens) plus backup light, 500 kcal emergency rations, whistle and the event GPS tracker. Support crew and pacer rules apply: one pacer is permitted from Checkpoint 7 and support crews are restricted at several checkpoints. Dropbags are allowed at the finish and at Checkpoints 7 and 8.
