Lakeside Charity Relays

The Lakeside Charity Relays is a running event held in the Lake District region of England. Participants meet at Haverthwaite Station, near Ulverston, Cumbria. The event provides a free train ride for runners and spectators from Haverthwaite to the race start at Lakeside. The train journey lasts approximately 10 to 15 minutes.

The race follows a course with a distance of 1.4 km (0.9 miles) and features a total ascent of 22 m (72 ft). This event is organized as a relay where teams of mixed juniors and seniors are chosen at random on the day of the competition. Anyone from the minimum age of 6 is eligible to participate.

Registration for the event is handled exclusively on the day of the race, and there is no option for pre-entry. A participation fee of £3.00 per person applies. Following the completion of the relay, a return train transports participants back to Haverthwaite Station for the prize-giving ceremony. The station cafe remains open for attendees upon their return. Parking is available at the Haverthwaite station car park for a fee of £3.
