Course, services and rules

Races start within the castle grounds, then go into surrounding forest areas and pass local attractions such as Hillsborough Fort and Hillsborough Lake. The routes head onto Ballynahinch Road before returning to the castle grounds to finish in the event village. Each mile is marked with distance flags and marshals are on course to guide runners. The event provides chip-timed results, a unique themed medal, free race photos, post-race goodies, and pacers. There is a strict three hour cut off for the half marathon due to road closures.
