Event overview

The Hillsborough Castle & Gardens Running Festival takes place on Sunday 26 July 2026 at Hillsborough Castle, 349 Hillsborough Rd, Hillsborough BT26 6GT, UK. The event is presented by Gateley and is held in support of Northern Ireland Hospice. Races start within the grounds of Hillsborough Castle and run through surrounding forest areas and local historic attractions, including Hillsborough Fort and Hillsborough Lake. Routes leave and return to the castle grounds and finish in the event village. Each mile is marked with distance flags and marshals are positioned on course. There is a strict three hour cut-off for the half marathon due to road closures.

Entry fees listed are £35 for the 10K and £40 for the half marathon. Group bookings for six people are available. Included with entry are a themed medal, free race photos, chip-timed results, and post-race goodies. The event will have pacers and an event village with food and drink options and partner giveaways.
