NI & Ulster Even Age Group XC Championships & Bobby Rea XC
The NI & Ulster Even Age Group Cross Country Championships and the Bobby Rea Memorial Cross Country take place at Billy Neill MBE County Park, Comber Road, Belfast on 25 October 2026. The meeting will also host the Northern Ireland International Cross Country and serves as the first fixture of the Athletics NI Cross Country League.
The Bobby Rea Memorial race is held annually in memory of a former Athletics Northern Ireland chairman, coach and founding member of Abbey AC. The Even Age Group Championships U10 to U18 are closed championships limited to athletes from Northern Ireland and Ulster. Eligibility for the closed championship is based on birth in Northern Ireland or Ulster, or at least one parent having been born there.
Age categories (age on 31 December 2026) have a minimum age of 8 and are listed by birth year: Under 10 (2017/2018), Under 12 (2015/2016), Under 14 (2013/2014), Under 16 (2011/2012), Under 18 (2009/2010) and Under 20 Bobby Rea (2007/2008).
Team scoring for the Even Age Group races is based on the top four finishers from each club. Athletes are assumed to represent the county where their club is located unless organisers are otherwise notified prior to race day. There will be no entries on the day for any races.
