The Scafell Sky Race is a mountain running event. The route is 40 km long with 2800 m of ascent.

The Route

The course travels through the Lake District. It starts at the Lanty Slees Stickle Barn events centre in Great Langdale. Participants will encounter technical trails and ridge-lines. It includes sections of the infamous Scafell Sky Race before branching off.

Event Information

The event features a fully marked course. There are three fully-supplied feed stations and manned checkpoints. Electronic timing and tracking is provided. There is a professional safety officer and supporting safety team. The event is part of the Skyrunner® National Series for the UK and Ireland, providing a ranking for Skyrunning UK.

Included in the entry fee is a finisher's Seed Bomb Medal, vegan salty soup at the finish, and live music. Optional extras include a race-specific cotton t-shirt, branded goat-bells for support teams, and post-race massage.
