Rab Scafell Sky Ultra 2026

The Rab Scafell Sky Ultra takes place on 6 June 2026 and is based at Lanty Slees Stickle Barn in the Central Lake District. The route covers 63 km with 4400 m of ascent and is run on technical, single-track mountain trails, including ridge sections and the highest summit in England. The maximum time allowed is 15 hours.

Entrants must be at least 19 years old on race day. Entries are not vetted, but participants are asked to provide details of relevant running or racing experience at the point of entry. Examples of suitable experience include:

  • Longer technical trail races such as 25 or 50 km events
  • Other skyraces whether vetted or unvetted
  • Long fell or hill races
  • Skyrunning skills training courses

The entry fee listed is £140. The fee includes a fully marked course, four fully supplied feed stations with manned checkpoints, a finishers Seed Bomb Medal, electronic timing and tracking, and a professional safety officer with a supporting safety team. The race is part of the Skyrunner National Series for the UK and Ireland and carries a Skyrunning UK ranking.

Experience an evening fell race in Ambleside featuring 6.4 km of flagged trails and 330 metres of ascent. This scenic out and back route climbs from Rothay Park to the Loughrigg summit for a classic Lake District running experience.

Experience the landscape of the Lake District with trail races of 23 km and 53 km starting from Keswick. These chip timed events include themed medals and routes passing Derwent Water and Scafell Pike.
