Scafell Sky Race takes place on Saturday 6 June 2026 in the Central Lake District. The course covers about 40 km with 2800 m of ascent over technical single-track trails and scree, and it includes climbs to the highest mountain in England and passages over Lakeland fells and valleys. The event includes one fully supplied feed station and eight manned checkpoints, course marking, electronic timing and tracking, a post-race vegan meal, a finishers’ Seed Bomb medal, and a professional safety team. The race has a maximum time allowed of 12 hours and a minimum entry age of 19.
Entries open on 4 October 2025 and close on 15 May 2026. The entry fee structure is: £110 (standard), rising to £120 from 1 January 2026 and £130 from 1 April 2026. Entries are not vetted; entrants must attest to their competence to complete the course. The event is part of the Skyrunning UK series and is delivered by Lake District Sky Trails.
Scafell Sky Ultra 2026
Scafell Sky Ultra is scheduled for Saturday 6 June 2026 in the Central and Southern Lake District. The course is listed as 60 km with 4400 m of ascent on technical single-track trails, taking in ridge lines and the highest summit in England. The event provides four fully supplied feed stations and manned checkpoints, course marking, electronic timing and tracking, a finishers’ Seed Bomb medal, and a professional safety team. The maximum time allowed is 15 hours and the minimum entry age is 19.
Entries open on 4 October 2025 and close on 8 May 2026. Entry fees are £120 (standard), rising to £130 from 31 December 2025 and £140 from 31 March 2026. Entries are not vetted but entrants are asked to detail relevant mountain running experience when entering. The Ultra is included in the Skyrunner National Series for the UK and Ireland.
