October 2026

A 50k mostly off-road ultramarathon on Bennachie with over 5000 ft of ascent, visiting multiple peaks and starting and finishing at the Bennachie Visitor Centre. Pre-entry only with 150 places and a 4 hour cut-off at about 19 miles.

A point to point trail of about 10 km from Archiestown to Cardhu Distillery on 11 October 2026, featuring firetracks, muddy sections and ridge views toward Ben Rinnes and the Cairngorms.

A Speyside running event offering marathon, half-marathon, 10 km and a four person relay along the Speyside Way, with distilleries on the route and whisky miniatures available at the finish.

November 2026

A 50 km trail race on 7 November 2026 following the Dava Way from Grantown-on-Spey to Forres, mostly on the old Highland Railway line. Mixed woodland and moorland terrain, Dava Summit climbs, 300 entries and an 8 hour cutoff.

Knockfarrel Hill Race on 7 November 2026 is an 8 km hill race with 300 m of climb, with day-of-event registration at Strathpeffer Community Centre replacing the previous Shinty Pavilion location.

An eight hour loop challenge at Culbin Forest where runners repeat 4.366 mile trail laps tracked by wristband timing; lap totals equate to half, full or ultra marathon distances.

A solo 69 km trail run from Glamis Castle to Scone Palace with a marked route, checkpoints, GPS tracking and chip timing. Finishers receive a medal and meal voucher; entries for 2026 are open.

December 2026

A festive trail running event within the private grounds of Glamis Castle in Angus. Distances include a family 1 mile plus 5 mile and 10 mile runs, with Canicross allowed except in the family mile.

January 2027

A trail running festival on 3 January 2027 through Glenmore Forest finishing at Loch Morlich beach, offering 5.6 km and 11.2 km races with chip timing, finisher medals, home baking and prizes; dogs are allowed on leads.

March 2027

The Newburgh Beach Bash 10K will take place in Newburgh on Saturday 20 March 2027. You can run 10 kilometers.

May 2027

A two day trail running event around Loch Ness with seven race options from 12 km to 100 miles. Start towns include Inverness, Dores and Fort Augustus with aid stations about every 10 km and camping options for some entries.

Two ultramarathon distances along the Moray coastline on 8 May 2027, with a 50 mile route from Findhorn to Cullen and a 50 km route from Lossiemouth to Cullen. Courses feature clifftops, forests, Bow Fiddle Rock and Spey Bay dolphins.

Timed endurance races on the Formartine and Buchan railway between Maud and Auchnagatt, with 12 hour and 6 hour formats. Runners try to cover maximum distance and must reach at least 26.3 miles in the 12 hour race for a medal.

A muddy off-road running challenge in Aberdeen on 16 May 2027 with 5 km and 10 km options for adults and supervised teenagers. Entries include a technical T shirt and finishers medal, with free parking and photos.
