A trail event on 15 August 2026 with 50 km and 100 km options along the Speyside Way from Aviemore or Tamdhu Distillery to Buckie; routes pass whisky country and coastal trails and include published GPX files and a race handbook.

Part of the Glenurquhart Highland Games, this 3.5-mile hill race offers a short, sharp challenge. With 700 feet of ascent, much of the course is visible from the games field for spectators.

October 2026

Take on the Bennachie Ultra Marathon, a scenic yet demanding 50k across Bennachie peaks with over 5000 ft of climb on trails and moorland. Limited pre entry places make this October classic a must for experienced trail runners.

Trail races on the Speyside Way offering marathon, half marathon, 10K and four person relay options. Routes pass several distilleries and finish at Glenfiddich with miniatures and a Glencairn tasting glass for finishers.

November 2026

A 50 km trail race along the Dava Way from Grantown on Spey to Forres, mainly on the old Highland Railway line, with woodland, moorland and a 321 m summit. Limited to 300 runners, 8 hour cutoff, held on 7 November 2026.

The Knockfarrel Hill Race will take place in Strathpeffer on Saturday 7 November 2026. You can run 8 kilometers.

December 2026

January 2027

A trail running festival on 3 January 2027 through Glenmore Forest finishing at Loch Morlich beach, offering 5.6 km and 11.2 km races with chip timing, finisher medals, home baking and prizes; dogs are allowed on leads.

June 2028

The MTC Beithir is a 39-mile ultra marathon from Kingussie to Inverness. It features a challenging route with significant ascent and a strict 4 mph minimum pace. All finishers earn a unique medal in this capped-entry event.

A 43 mile single-day ultra along the Scottish coast, MTC SELKIE is Day 8 of the nine-day MTC SCOTIA series, running from Dornoch to Dunbeath. Entry is limited and finishers receive a SELKIE medal; a 4 mph minimum average is enforced.

A 38 miles ultra from Dunbeath to John O'Groats on 4 June 2028, the MTC Kelpie closes the nine day MTC SCOTIA challenge. Entry is limited and cutoffs use a 4 mph minimum; all finishers receive a bespoke Kelpie medal.
