The Dramathon

The Dramathon is a trail running event on the Speyside Way in Scotland on 17 October 2026. The route runs between Glenfarclas and Glenfiddich distilleries and passes several Speyside distilleries and sections of the Spey Valley.

Distances available

  • Full Dram approximately 42 km, start at Glenfarclas
  • Half Dram approximately 21 km, start at Tamdhu
  • Wee Dram just over 10 km, start at Aberlour
  • We Dram relay for teams of four, roughly 4 x 10 km legs

The course mainly follows well maintained paths and former railway alignment with some forest tracks, short sections on minor roads (about 5 km on the full course) and hilly terrain. The full marathon route has one notable ascent in each of its four sections and a gradual uphill final stretch from Craigellachie to Dufftown. Route changes may be made by the organiser.

Entry provisions include a fully marked course, coach transport to the start (provided and required), baggage transfer to the finish, electronic timing, well stocked feed stations, race photos, medical and safety teams, a finisher medal made from a whisky barrel stave, a Glencairn tasting glass and miniature whisky samples collected at the finish. Whisky is not provided along the route or at feed stations. Single use plastic cups are no longer supplied at feed stations; participants are expected to carry a portable cup.
