The Dramathon

Dufftown, United Kingdom • 17-18 Oct 2025

Event overview

The Dramathon takes place on 17-18 October 2025, with the main races organised for 18 October. All race distances were sold out as of 11 January; waiting lists are open for some events. The finish line for all races is at Glenfiddich Distillery in Dufftown. The event includes a post-race ceilidh and a whisky tasting on the preceding evening.

Races and course details

The event comprises four race options:

  • Full Dram: ~42 km
  • Half Dram: ~21 km
  • The Wee Dram: just over 10 km
  • Relay (We Dram): roughly 4 x 10 km legs

All races are trail events that mainly follow the Speyside Way and the old railway line. The course passes several distilleries and runs through the Spey Valley. The full marathon includes some minor road sections (about 5 km total) and a few hills, with one ascent in each of the four sections of the full course; the final stretch from Craigellachie to Dufftown is a gradual uphill slope. Bus transport is provided from Glenfiddich to the various start points, and for some races participants must travel to the start by these buses.

Included for participants are coach transport to the start, baggage transfer to the finish, fully marked course, well stocked feed stations, electronic timing, race photos, safety and first aid teams, whisky samples and a Glencairn tasting glass; finishers receive a medal made from a whisky barrel stave. Single-use plastic cups are not provided at feed stations; runners should plan to carry a portable cup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
