Maggie's Dundee Glamis Castle Running Festival 2026

Maggie's Dundee Glamis Castle Running Festival takes place on Sunday, 13 September 2026 at Glamis Castle, Forfar, Angus (DD8 1RJ). The event is organised by Maggie's and runs as an in-person fundraising event in support of Maggie's cancer support services.

Participants can choose to walk or run on routes set within the castle grounds. Distances offered include:

  • 1 mile - inclusive route suitable for buggies and wheelchair accessible.
  • 5k - mainly firm trail paths with some mixed terrain.
  • 10k - mainly firm trail paths with some mixed terrain.

All participants receive a Maggie's t-shirt, dedicated fundraising support and a finishers medal. Under 18s must be accompanied by participating adults. Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads at all times; complimentary doggy bandanas will be available.

Trail runs nearby

A hill race on 25 July 2026 as part of the Falkland Gala. The course covers just under 6 miles with over 400 m of ascent across paths, fields and hillside, is well marshalled, and requires mandatory kit and personal hydration.

A two lap beach race on West Sands, St Andrews covering approximately 4 miles with start and finish at the Life Guards Beach Hut. All finishers receive a memento and medal and prizes are awarded in overall and age categories.

A one-lap *5.5 mile* trail run around Templeton Woods on 2 August 2026, open to runners aged 18 and over. Numbers collected on the day, basic changing facilities, first aid cover, refreshments and prize categories including team awards.

A long hill race on 15 August 2026 covering 26.07km with 1438m ascent across East and West Lomond. The unwaymarked route follows checkpoints, requires navigation and mandatory kit, and offers prize categories and a GPX file.
