Maggie's Dundee Glamis Castle Running Festival 2026

Maggie's Dundee is organizing a running festival at Glamis Castle in Angus on Sunday, September 13, 2026. The event takes place on the castle grounds in Forfar, Angus DD8 1RJ and is in person.

Participants can choose to run or walk one of three distances:

  • 1 mile
  • 5k
  • 10k

The 1 mile route uses paths that are suitable for buggies and are wheelchair accessible. The 5k and 10k routes follow mainly firm trail paths around the castle grounds with some mixed terrain.

All participants receive a Maggie’s t-shirt, a finishers medal and dedicated fundraising support. Under 18s must be accompanied by participating adults. Well behaved dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads; complimentary doggy bandanas are provided for canine participants.

Registration costs £30 and participants are asked to raise sponsorship money for Maggie’s. The event is scheduled to run for six hours and there is a no refunds policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

A 5.8 mile hill race in Reid Park, Forfar, running up and over "Bummie" on paths and trails on 19 June 2026; entry was £5, post-race bridies offered, and the event is listed as closed.

A hill race organised by Dundee Hawkhill Harriers in the Sidlaw hills, starting at Kirkton of Auchterhouse. The course is 10.4 km with 360 m ascent, open to those aged over 17, with individual and team prizes and post-race refreshments.

MacTuffX Dundee on 28 June 2026 is a functional fitness race at the Regional Performance Centre combining ten Xercises with repeated runs. Entry options include solo, doubles and five-person relays, and a LITE weight division is available.

A hill race on 25 July 2026 as part of the Falkland Gala. The course covers just under 6 miles with over 400 m of ascent across paths, fields and hillside, is well marshalled, and requires mandatory kit and personal hydration.
