Falkland Hill Race 2026

The Falkland Hill Race is held on 25 July 2026 as part of the Falkland Gala day. The event starts and finishes at the main gala arena in Tyndal Bruce Park, located off the A912 a few hundred metres north of Falkland town centre (KY15 7BY).

The route remains just under 6 miles and includes the summit of Falkland Hill with an overall ascent of over 400 m. Terrain includes hard paths, grass fields, land-rover tracks and open hillside. There are very steep uphill and downhill sections; in wet conditions participants should take care. The course is well marshalled and route finding is not difficult.

Entrants must carry appropriate kit as required by the organisers, including windproof and waterproof full body cover, hat, gloves, map, compass, whistle and food. Full body cover is mandatory in poor weather. The organiser does not provide water or drinks; entrants must bring their own hydration and nutrition.

Parking is available on the Gala Field, at the Falkland Memorial Hall and at the new car-park adjacent to Pillars of Hercules, each about a 10 minute jog from the race start. Public toilets are on the Gala Field and in the village near Falkland Community Hall. There are no changing facilities or baggage storage on site.

Race numbers are collected from the Falkland Trail Runners gazebo in the event field from 9:00am. Medical details and emergency contacts must be completed on the back of the race number. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers and to winners in the Over 40, Over 50, Over 60 and Over 70 categories. Prize giving is held after the race and full results are posted online the following day. Entry fee is £10 until 24 July 2026. Total places 100.
