Templeton Trail Race

The Templeton Trail Race is scheduled for 2 August 2026 and takes place around Templeton Woods in Dundee. The route is a one lap course of approximately 5.5 miles, run mostly on well defined park paths with some trails and short hills. The event is described as an introduction to trail running and is open to anyone aged 18 years and over.

Race numbers are collected on the day at the Clatto Centre. Pre entered competitors can pick up numbers at the Clatto Centre and, if total pre entries are below the event capacity, a limited number of on the day entries may be available. Total places are limited to 200.

Facilities are basic. Changing space is minimal and there are no showers. A location will be provided to leave kit but the organisers will not accept responsibility for loss or damage. Limited car parking is available at the Clatto Centre and on the approach road; alternative parking is available at the Templeton Woods Nature Hut or at Camperdown Park with a short jog to the start.

The route will be marked with flags and marshals at junctions and the finish is close to the start. First aid cover will be provided. Cold drinks and a food spread will be available at the picnic area. Preliminary results will appear on Webscorer and final results will be published on the Dundee Roadrunners website and the Scottish Athletics website within a week. Prizes are planned for overall places and for age categories 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70-79, plus team prizes with three counters per team. Transfers and deferrals are permitted up to 26 July. Refunds are only offered if the event is cancelled, in which case a full refund minus EntryCentral charges will be issued. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
