Splash & Dash Beach Race - West Sands, St Andrews

The Splash & Dash Beach Race takes place on West Sands Beach in St Andrews on 26 July 2026. The course is two laps, starting and finishing at the Life Guards Beach Hut, with a race distance of approximately 4 miles. The surface is mostly firm compact sand and the route contains no surprise hills. At the end of each lap the route includes a water dip; participants are advised to bring a change of clothing.

Race headquarters are at the Beach Ranger's Office on West Sands Road, St Andrews KY16 9XL where number pick-up, toilets and car parking are located. There are no changing facilities at the venue so entrants should come ready to run.

All finishers will receive a memento and a race medal. Prizes are awarded to the first three overall men and women and to the first male and female in Over 40, Over 50, Over 60 and Over 70 categories. The organiser is unable to provide water on course so competitors should bring their own drinks. There is no official baggage storage; any belongings left at the start or finish are at the owner’s risk.

Race results will be posted online after the event. The event is insured and permitted by the Association of Running Clubs and held under ARC rules. Entry fee is £11.00.
