Trail Running calendar near Saint John's Chapel 2026-2027

Multi-distance running event in Knaresborough with 10k (ish), half, 20-mile, marathon and ultra options on a 6.5-mile loop through parkland and a converted rail track. Feed stations, finisher medal and post-race refreshments are provided.

Two trail races from Shotley Bridge, County Durham, with a **25 km** course and a **53 km** ultra that passes reservoirs, moorland and woods. The 53 km route has three feed stations, mandatory safety kit and live chip timing.

A trail event on the Nidderdale Way in North Yorkshire visiting Ripley Castle and Brimham Rocks. Four distances from 13 to 55 miles are offered with supplied trackers, checkpoint support and UTMB qualification opportunities.

Trail runs in Ravenscar through the North York Moors National Park offering 10K, half marathon, marathon and ultra distances on moorland and grassland using sections of the Cleveland Way.

The Nidderdale Way Ultramarathon will take place in Pateley Bridge on Saturday 24 October 2026.

A 38 mile ultramarathon and a four leg relay around Jedburgh on 24 October 2026, with marked route, checkpoints and compulsory safety kit. Limited entry and team places; event proceeds support local charities.

A backyard ultra in Gisburn Forest where runners complete a fully off road loop each hour until one person remains. Field capped at 200 with prizes for top finishers and an extra award for anyone exceeding 100 mile.

Run the Bronte Way fell race through the South/West Pennines, a scenic 12 km point to point with 351 m of climb. Pre entry only with limited bus support and a warming soup and roll at the finish make this a classic autumn challenge.

Take on the classic Buttermere fell race on 25 October 2026 at Gatesgarth Farm, a tough 5 km senior route with 600 m of climbing plus short junior races. Enjoy a traditional shepherds meet atmosphere, entry on the day and a warm drink.

Tackle Lockton Limping, a scenic fell race across the North York Moors covering 11.2 km with 350 m of climb and sweeping views. Entry is on the day at Lockton Village Hall, perfect for both competitive and social runners.

An obstacle course race at Aske estate for owners and their dogs, with 5 km and 10 km options, marked dog-friendly obstacles and an 850 metre muddy assault section near the finish.

A Halloween themed trail event on the Leeds to Liverpool Canal in Kirkstall offering distances from a family friendly 1 mile to ultra marathon. The licensed course is marshalled and features drink stations, Halloween medals and spot prizes.

A traditional fell race from the Summit Inn in Littleborough on Halloween 2026, covering about 4.3 miles with over 800 ft of ascent. The event includes several junior categories, runs under FRA rules, and features costume prizes.

Trail Outlaws stages Dark Skies Run @ Wooler in Northumberland with fully marked trails, stocked check points and options for a Trail 10k or a Half Marathon. Entry fees shown range from £25 to £36.

Trail races from Jenkins Field, Glenridding offer 5k, 10k and 15k courses on marked, marshalled trails with scenic fell views, event village facilities and on site medical cover.

A volunteer run full and half marathon around Gargrave with multi terrain loops, refreshment stations and a sustainable finisher medal. Proceeds support a participant attending the World Scout Jamboree in Gdansk 2027.

A waymarked lakeside event around Ullswater offering a *20 mile* low level route or a *24 mile* Challenge with higher fell sections, staffed checkpoints and a written route description for participants.
