Halloween-Themed Trail Running

The Hubble Bubble and Ghostly 1 Mile is a Halloween-themed running event held along the Leeds to Liverpool Canal in Kirkstall. Licensed by the Trail Running Association, the event features a variety of distances held on a flat and scenic out-and-back course. The terrain consists of canal trails, providing a straightforward route for participants.

The event offers several distances to accommodate different preferences:

  • 20 miles (two 10-mile laps)

This is a cup-less event, and participants are required to bring their own reusable bottles or cups. Feed and drink stations are positioned every 3 miles along the marshalled and signed course. For safety reasons, over-ear headphones are not permitted, though bone-conducting or single-earbud headphones are allowed.

The race hub is located near Wyther Lane, with the nearest rail link at Headingley station. There is no parking at the immediate start or finish line; instead, participants are encouraged to use nearby parking at Morrisons or to car share. Finishers receive a bespoke medal and a selection of treats. Fancy dress is encouraged, with spot prizes awarded for notable costumes.
