The Turnpike Trot 10k and Rabbit Run 5k take place on Sunday 26 October 2025 at the Danby Lodge National Park Centre, Lodge Lane, Danby, Whitby YO21 2NB. Distances offered:

  • 10 km
  • 5 km

Entries open 19 January 2025 for voucher holders and 26 January 2025 for general entries. Entries close 9 October 2025 or when the race is full. Field limit is 150. Minimum ages are 10 years for the 10k and 7 years for the 5k (the 5k requires a child to run with an adult). Prices:

  • 10k: £30 affiliated, £32 unaffiliated
  • 5k: £20 affiliated, £22 unaffiliated

Price includes finishers medals, parking, refreshments, and a fully marshalled and marked route. The event holds an ARC permit (ARC/25/0181). There is no race time limit. The event is cupless; competitors should bring their own cup if they want drinks at checkpoints or the finish. No dogs are permitted. No refunds, no deferrals, and transfers are restricted by the organiser’s closing-date rules.

Course, prizes and facilities

The 10k is a double loop of the 5k course. Both courses are marked and marshalled. Prize categories award 1st, 2nd and 3rd in male and female under-18 and over-18 classes. The Danby Lodge National Park Centre offers on-site facilities including an indoor climbing wall, outdoor play area, gift shop, woodland and riverside trails, picnic area and Tea Rooms.
