Turnpike Trot 10k & Rabbit Run 5k

Turnpike Trot and Rabbit Run take place at Danby Lodge National Park Centre in Danby, Whitby on Sunday 18 October 2026. The event offers two distances and is limited to 150 entrants.

  • 10 km double loop of the 5 km course
  • 5 km single loop around the Moors Centre trails

There is no mandatory kit, but a waterproof jacket and sensible trainers with grip are advised. The event is cupless; participants should bring a personal cup for drinks at checkpoints and for hot or cold drinks at the finish. The organiser lists no time limit for completion.

Entry fees differ for affiliated and unaffiliated runners: the 10 km is priced at £32 affiliated and £34 unaffiliated, the 5 km at £22 affiliated and £24 unaffiliated. Price includes a finisher medal, parking, refreshments, and a fully marshalled and marked route. Event T shirts are available for £10.

Entries open in March 2026 with voucher holder and general entry dates, and close on 1 October 2026 or when the race is full. Once the race is full a competitor may sell their place to another runner and update SI Entries; no changes may be made after the closing date. The race carries permit ARC/26/0374. A multi-day gravel and trail running festival at Duncombe Park with a Friday 6 km night loop and Saturday 10 km, 20 km or 30 km routes, timed mystery segments, on-site camping and festival amenities.

A point to point challenge of just over 40 miles across the classic Lyke Wake route from near Osmotherley to Ravenscar, run on a handicap basis with seven checkpoints, mandatory kit and a twelve hour overall time limit.

A 50K trail ultra from Whitby to Pickering that follows railway lines and passes eight stations, with 3322 ft of elevation. The course is mixed terrain with four marshaled checkpoints, a 13 hour cut off, and walkers are welcome.

Tackle a scenic fell race from Chop Gate in the North York Moors, covering 6.1 miles with 344 m of ascent across classic moorland. Entry on the day is welcome with low fees for members and non members, and teams are catered for.
