About the race

The Hardmoors 15 on Saturday 9 January 2027 is a circular trail run of approximately 17.5 miles, starting and finishing at Fylingdales Village Hall in Robin Hoods Bay. The route records about 1,700 feet / 518 metres of ascent and must be completed within eight hours. Entry is limited to 150 places; fees are quoted as £48 unattached and £46 attached.

The route passes checkpoints at Ravenscar Station Road (around 4.5 miles and again at 12.5 miles) and at Hayburn Wyke (around 8 miles). Aid stations at those points provide food, water and coke. There is a checkpoint at the eight mile point with a three hour cut off from the race start.

Mandatory equipment must be carried for the full event and includes a hat and gloves, a waterproof jacket with taped seams, at least 500 ml of water or sports drink, a whistle, a map and route description, a survival bag or foil blanket, a mobile phone, a cup for drinks, and means to attach the race bib. Dogs are not permitted at the event.

On finishing, participants receive a race medal and a Hardmoors technical t shirt. The organiser holds an ARC permit. In poor weather the organisers may cancel the race; refunds are not issued in that circumstance but a voucher or transfer may be offered. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
