Dalby Forest 5 Mile Headtorch Challenge
The event is a night trail race over a 5 mile route on singletrack and forest trails around the Dalby Forest Visitors Centre, using paths that are mostly unused by the public and some sections used only for the event. The format is trail running in the dark; participants are expected to use a headtorch or a hand-held torch. Organisers note that headtorches will not be available for purchase at the event and can be bought online from around £15.
For insurance purposes the minimum age is 16 years on the event date. Online entries close 19/01/2027. There will be no on-the-night entries. The entry fee is £19.00 plus a booking fee of £1.90 per entry. Entry is limited to 650 participants because of parking restrictions at the Dalby Visitor Centre; registration will close when this limit is reached.
Results and awards include prizes for the first five male and first five female finishers. For 2027 finishers will receive medals. The event is organised by Trail Blazing Events and is staged at the Visitors Centre, Dalby Forest Drive, Low Dalby, Pickering YO18 7LT.
