The Stone Circle Marathon & Half (Gargrave, North Yorkshire)

The Stone Circle is a volunteer-led, non-profit running event held in Gargrave, North Yorkshire on 31 October 2026. The event offers two race distances:

  • Marathon - two loops of the course
  • Half Marathon - one loop of the course

The course is multi-terrain and uses fields, footpaths, canal towpaths and a short section of country roads on the route to the Broughton Stone Circle. There are three refreshment stations per loop and timing is provided by OpenTracking. The races are ARC registered and have first aid cover. Toilets, refreshments, changing facilities and bag storage are available at the start/finish location at Gargrave Village Hall.

Finishers receive a sustainable medal. Post-race recovery refreshments include Yorkshire tea, home-made cakes and Yorkshire chips provided by The Frying Yorkshireman. Entry fees are listed as £42 for the full marathon and £32 for the half marathon. Minimum ages are 18 for the full marathon and 17 for the half marathon. The event raises funds to support attendance at the World Scout Jamboree in Gdansk 2027. Entries open on 2 April 2026 and close on 24 October 2026.
