The Stone Circle Marathon & Half

The Stone Circle is a full and half marathon held in Gargrave, North Yorkshire. The route passes through Yorkshire Dales scenery and reaches the Broughton Stone Circle. The races use a looped course with the half marathon comprising one loop and the full marathon two loops.

Distances:

  • Marathon
  • Half marathon

The course crosses multiple surfaces including fields, footpaths, canal towpaths and a short section of country roads. Each loop includes three refreshment stations offering a variety of snacks and drinks. Finishers receive a sustainable medal and post-race refreshments include Yorkshire tea, home-made cakes and chips provided by a local vendor.

The event is volunteer run and non-profit. Funds raised support a scout selected to attend the World Scout Jamboree in Gdansk 2027; the fundraiser must reach a specified fundraising target. The races are ARC registered and include timing provided by OpenTracking, first aid cover, toilets, changing facilities and bag storage at the start and finish. Entry fees are listed as £30 for the marathon and £22 for the half marathon. The start and finish location is Gargrave Village Hall, West Street, Gargrave, BD23 3RD.

The event is organised and delivered by volunteers and is intended for runners and long-distance walkers able to complete the course on race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
