Trail Running calendar near Rivington 2026-2027

Ogwen | Yr Helgi Du is a mountain Skyrunning event in Eryri offering 40K, 25k and 15K routes through the Carneddau with marked trails, Mountain Leader support and an event village at Plas y Brenin.

A long Lakeland route of about 23 miles with 4400 ft of ascent starting and finishing at Ambleside Parish Centre. The route passes Loughrigg Tarn, Coniston and Tarn Hows; navigational skills and basic mountain kit are required.

A chip timed 10 mile trail run starting and finishing at Rivington Village, following a loop via White Coppice and Wheelton Plantation. Organised by Trail Blazing Events, it offers bespoke finisher medals and prizes across age categories.

Take on the Hooded Horse Fell Race in Kilburn, North York Moors on 12 April 2026, a challenging 10.7 km course with 390 m of climb through forest and moorland. Pre entry only; adults 18 plus welcome.

Tackle a classic spring fell race in Mow Cop on Sun 12 Apr 2026: 10.5 km with 400 m of climb across stirring hill terrain. Entries on the day for adults 18 and over, with team scoring and friendly club spirit.

Take on the Mike Briggs Wirksworth Incline & Infants, a challenging fell race in the Peak District featuring a 6.9 km course with 400 m of ascent. Pre entry is required for the main race and junior races are available for younger runners.

Join the Bunny Run 2 in Haworth on Tue 14 Apr for a lively 3 mile course with 100 m climb across the South West Pennines. Teams welcome, minimum age 12, finishers get a Cadbury Creme Egg and Easter egg prizes with chip butties and pub hospi..

Take on the Ossy Moors Fell Race in Oswaldtwistle on Wednesday 15 April 2026. This lively 5 mile fell course with about 300 m of climb weaves Bowland trails and offers on the day entry for a friendly competitive vibe.

Take on a midweek Peak District challenge at Herod Farm: a scenic but testing 3 mile route with 340 m of climb. Pre entry is £6 or £10 on the night; registration runs 18:15 to 19:15.

Tackle the Grisedale Grind, a steep 4 km Lake District fell race with a testing 480 m ascent that rewards gutsy climbs. Entry on the day for £7 cash, juniors welcome at Revelin Moss opposite Whinlatter Visitor Centre.

Take on the inaugural MTC Gelert 47 mile ultra from Barmouth to Llanidloes on 16 April 2026, the third day of the MTC CYMRUN end to end. Limited field, bespoke medal for all finishers and real time tracking for supporters.

Take on 230 km of Pennine Bridleway and upland trails through the Peak District to Cumbria with 75 hours to finish. Limited to 30 runners, this rugged multi day challenge features checkpoints with hot meals, bunks and course support.

Take on the Ranger Ultras 137 km trail across the Pennine Bridleway from Yorkshire moors to Cumbria, with dramatic scenery and a 50 hour cutoff. Limited to 20 places with checkpoint support, hot meals and multiday facilities.

A trail 5 km race around Clowbridge Reservoir, first of a three race spring series on consecutive Thursdays in April 2026. The two lap anticlockwise course has about 25 m of elevation and offers prizes with local fundraising.

Take on the Chester Ultra 102, a 102 mile trail ultramarathon across Cheshire's Sandstone Trail, Delamere Forest and canal towpaths with start and finish at Ellesmere Port. Limited to 400 runners, 32 hour cut off, ITRA and UTMB points.

Trail runs across Thoresby Park on 18 April 2026 with distances from a 2km family run to a half marathon. Cani cross and Nordic walking options are included and live chip timing plus finisher medals are provided.

A trail event in Castleton on 18 April 2026 with 70 km and 35 km routes through the central Peak District. The event supports the Peak District National Park Foundation and has age and entry requirements.

Enjoy a scenic 12 km trail in the Yorkshire Dales as part of the Due North series on 18 April 2026. The Burnsall start and finish offers marshalled country routes, post race food and a beer and prizes for age groups.
