Stretton Skyline Fell Race

The Stretton Skyline is a fell race of 30.5 km (19 mi) with approximately 1360 m of climb. The event is based at Church Stretton Cricket Pavilion, Lutwyche Road, Church Stretton, Shropshire, SY6 6AT. The course is partially marked and requires navigational skills; significant fell running experience and local knowledge are beneficial.

The race includes checkpoint closing times on the course. Checkpoints and key points on the route include: Pole Bank (Long Mynd) SO415944 at 1693 ft; A49 Road Crossing SO444915; Ragleth Hill SO451917 at 1280 ft, closes 12:30; Church Stretton Watling Street SO456935; Caer Caradoc SO447954 at 1506 ft, closes 13:20; Lawley SO495975 at 1246 ft, closes 14:00; A49 Road Crossing SO472968, closes 14:30; Mott Road / Portway junction (Long Mynd) SO427958 at 1575 ft, closes 15:15.

The minimum age for competitors is over 19. The organiser notes that this is a very tough and long race and it is not recommended for inexperienced fell runners. A £100 bonus is offered for any course record breakers. Entry is by pre-entry and entry on the day, both at £10, with an overall entry limit of 180. The event is insured by the FRA. Rodney's Pillar is a provisional 5.2 km race on 17 June 2026 with 280 m of ascent. Entry is by pre-entry or on the day with fees of £7 pre-entry and £10 on-the-day.

A summer trail event on Saturday 20 June 2026 along the Mortimer Trail between Kington and Ludlow, offering an approximately 30 mile multi-terrain ultra and a Croft Half that follows the final section of the route.

A hill run of 6.7 km with 250 m ascent near Ratlinghope, Shropshire on 23 June 2026, held in memory of an individual and raising funds for Severn Hospice. The start location uses what3words teams.orchids.mailers.

A community running day at Bromyard Rugby Club featuring a chip timed 10 km, a junior 2 km for ages 4 to 15, and a non competitive fun run, with marshals, on site vendors, first aid and event insurance.
